Accessibility statement

What has been built into this site, what we have not verified, and how to tell us when something does not work. We would rather be specific than claim a standard we have not been audited against.

What is built in

  • Keyboard operation

Every control on the site can be reached and operated from the keyboard, including the mobile menu, the question panels and the booking form.

  • Visible focus

Focused elements carry a high-contrast outline. It is never removed without a replacement.

  • Contrast

Body text is set at ratios above the 4.5 to 1 threshold against its background, and the gold accent is only used at sizes and weights where it holds that ratio.

  • Labelled forms

Every input has a real label rather than a placeholder standing in for one, and errors are announced rather than only shown in colour.

  • Structure

Pages use headings in order, landmark regions, and a skip link to the main content.

  • Reduced motion

The little animation the site uses is switched off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.

  • Text scaling

Layouts are built in relative units, so enlarging text in the browser does not break them.

What we do not claim

This site has not been through a formal accessibility audit, and we do not state a WCAG conformance level or any certification. The measures above were built in deliberately and tested as the site was made; that is a different thing from an independent assessment, and it would be misleading to present it as one.

We have also not tested every page with every combination of screen reader and browser. If you use assistive technology and something here does not behave, that is useful information and we would like to hear it.

Accessible transportation

Accessibility on the website and accessibility in a vehicle are separate questions. For anything relating to the trip itself — mobility aids, assistance between the door and the vehicle, service animals, or a passenger who needs a particular kind of access — the reliable answer is to call and ask before booking so we can confirm what we can arrange.

Telling us about a barrier

Call and describe what happened, or what you were trying to do and where it stopped working. That is more useful to us than a form, and the phone is answered at any hour. If it is easier to write, the contact page has the details.

Open 24 hours, seven days a week

{{NEEDS INPUT: email address for accessibility feedback, if different from general enquiries}}
